Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Commodity Manager, to join our Distributed Products Team in Chula Vista California. You are a highly motivated professional interested in managing a portfolio of commercial and defense supplier contract programs. You will administer existing long-term agreements, plan for new awards that support domestic and foreign manufacturing sites. You are skilled at ensuring suppliers and the commodity are performing to Collins Aerospace requirements for delivery, quality, and cost.

This position is working onsite at our Chula Vista CA facility.

May be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Executes distributor/hardware sourcing strategies across multiple commercial and defense programs, supporting Collins manufacturing site both foreign and domestic

  • Develop bidder list in conjunction with technical requirements and grow-maintain-exit strategy, analyze quotes, facilitate source selection, and contract negotiations

  • Make sourcing decisions based upon multiple factors, including capability, capacity, quality, reliability, price competitiveness, and total landed cost

  • Manage contracts changes, pricing adjustments, and other periodic functions throughout the life of the contract

  • Support finance organization data requirements with spend forecasting and sound financial analysis

  • Complete compliance documentation and negotiation approval requirements using ARIBA tool

  • Concurrently manage projects of varying degrees of complexity and sometimes multi-year duration

  • Within the scope of strategic sourcing, engage with teams that are addressing risks, issues and opportunities between suppliers and customers

  • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager

  • Responsible for overall relationship with multiple strategic accounts, both domestic and international

  • Develop strong collaborative working relationships with peers in finance, contracts, operations, and more to achieve optimal outcomes for Collins stakeholders

  • Travel 20% domestically and internationally

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

  • Experience with ERP systems

  • Experience Financial analysis: i.e. quote comparison

  • Experienced supplier negotiations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP and ARIBA

  • Strong data analysis and presentation skills

  • Project management experience

  • Ability to understand drawings and technical materials and process specifications

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Experienced in strategic sourcing within manufacturing

The salary range for this role is 105,000 USD - 221,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
